Geeeez, way to go! (I`m jealous). I have been waterfowling for over 35 years and got my first band 3 years ago off of a Greater Canada goose. Just the luck of the draw I guess.

Been hunting for about 10 years now and haven't gotten one yet
have been with some buddies when they got some bands on geese but haven't gotten any yet.
Saw about ten neck bands on snow geese last year but never got one also saw some on canadas too.

Idaho.. Bands are rare and considered a trophy. At least that's how I interpet it. They also give you a history of the bird. You can find out where the banding was performed, the birds age, etc.....

Hey TX I agree with you. That first mallard I shot no matter what I was gonna have mounted. It made an awesome mount with the band on it. I live in South Eastern Wisconsin and shot the duck at Horicon Marsh. The duck came from Kramer, North Dakota. So yea they are a trophy. Plus it was a big northern duck to top it off.
