I' ve been looking to buy a couple of good calls to replace the Lohmans crap I' ve got[ actually the wood/plastic goose call is quite good but the duck call sucks hard] The delrin goose call and walnut/polyvariton duck call, both by Winglock,are my top picks right now. Has anyone heard either of these calls in action, I hear Rick from Winglock is a great callmaker. Comments????

Many call manufacturers use the same reeds and inserts, so you get different sounds by using different reeds, inserts and barrel materail. Same reeds and inserts in a different material barrel will sound different. There aren' t many NEW ways to put together calls, probably none. Most of the notoriety for particular brands comes from some GREAT caller winning a contest with their call.

It ain' t the call that makes the difference, it' s the guy using it. Each model has it' s own peculiarities, learn what they are, and practice, practice practice.
