I was thinking about trying to jump shoot some ducks in some fields close to my house but only have a 20 ga. Is this possible or am I under gunned?
It's not what you shoot as much as how you shoot. Go with a Mod Choke & 3" #4 Steel.

We just got done patterning my sisters 20ga Winchester and the performance astounded me! Granted the volume was less but densitys were great. I told her to keep them ducks under 40 and the geee a tad closer and shed have it made ;) Now if i could only find a decent turkey choke for her :D

Go with a HastingsĀ® #I20570; it's what my son uses in his Winchester & I in my MossbergĀ®.

MY FATHER N LAW USES A 20 AND SMOKES THE DUCKS. THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IS THE AMOUONT OF SHOT. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ THE ONLY DIFFERNCE IS THE AMOUNT OF SHOT IN THE 20,

Ive shot so many ducks with a 20 gauge that its ridiculous. Ive even gotten some triples, and tons of doubles. Ive also shot large Canada geese with it just fine, so I wouldnt even second guess using your 20 to jumpshoot those ducks. Just shoot good and you wont have any problem.

20 gauge is awesome for jumpin ducks. Most ducks i shoot jumpin are with a 20 or 2 3/4 12 gauge and my shots are close, and have no problem getting triples and doubles. Nothing wrong with a 20.

Holy Cow! Shotgunman 410, are you serious? Do you really hunt ducks with scent killer? I have never heard of such a thing. If ducks can smell like deer then I need to know where to go and get a marshland scent.
The 20 gauge is going to be great for jump shooting. The birds are real close and you should fill your bag quite fast. I prefer jump shooting over all other forms. Good luck.
