Need some advice about Ammunition

Hi everyone, So, I recently moved to near Twin Falls, Idaho. I’m already meeting a lot of people who say I can hunt their farm fields for duck and goose this October. However, I’ve come across a big problem and I would like some advice. I am completely out of ammunition for duck and goose. I thought I’d look for ammunition now, in case it takes a while to find it before the season starts. However, I’m not finding any. Not in stores, not anywhere. I was referred to a website called gunbroker, but I’m having trouble using it. Something about a security system not letting me place an order. I don’t get it.

Anyway, here’s where I need some advice. I know it’s a hard question, though, because of the ammunition shortage. Is there any other website or place that I can get 12 gauge steel BB ammunition? I need this ammunition for goose.

If there is no other way, I’ll have to find something I can hunt with a .243 rifle down here where I moved. I’ve got 85 grain rifle ammunition a friend gave to me before I moved.

ANY help will be appreciated, Jared

Ask Sportsman's Warehouse when they next expect some in (they're in Twin Falls). Also check with Quick Response Firearms. He's in Twin Falls also. Something else you might consider is to check Cabelas online. I'm in CA and recently checked Bass Pro (now owns Cabelas) for non-lead turkey ammo. I was able to order some into a nearby store where I could pick it up after being backgrounded (Communist CA), Grrr.). If Cabelas has the ammo, you should be able to get it mailed to your residence in Idaho. Failing that, start checking out SLC.

Thank you. I’ll start looking then. I really don’t want to miss duck and goose season.

I would just start by doing a online search for loads you like, as these days there are SO many different shops that have online stores, you never know where it will turn up
and keep in mind many sites these days have email list you can be added to when items come back in stock your interested in, some call it a WISH LIST< you can be added too
and it also never hurts to go to small town local gun shops, they might have some on shelves not advertised!

here's a few I found that are in stock NOW, or saying they are any how

There are tons of places selling ammo online. Just have to watch some websites and order it when available.

Stores are getting it too. But it gets bought up quick. If you have a shop near your daily routine just start stopping in regularly. Eventually it'll show up.

Set up an account on MidwayUSA. Doesn't cost anything. Once you have it set up you can search for ammo (you can actually search before setting up an account) and f they don't have what you are looking for in stock there is a tab labeled "notify me" that you can click and they will send you a notification when they have it in stock. The system works pretty well.

Thank you all for the advice. I actually just found while unpacking 22 rounds of high velocity steel shot BB ammunition. Most likely left over from last season. I will purchase some more ammo, though. Either way, looks like I’m going duck and goose hunting season!

Thank you all for the advice! Jared

I dunno how good of a shot you are but 22 rds wouldn't last me too long in a waterfowl season :happy0157:

Glad you at least found some though happy hunting!

Follow flags advice. Midway is a well known trustworthy website. Set up the notifications and it'll email you when what you want is in stock.
