Spnning wing decoys
My view is that sometimes they seem to work great, and other times it seems that the ducks avoid them. I guess after seeing these decoys and learning to associate them with gunfire is the problem.
We still put out a spinner or two in the spread and think they work more often than not. We currently use Baby Mojos more often than the full size. What spinners do you fellows use? Do you ever notice ducks giving them a wide berth? |
With the proper number of decoys (usually fewer is better) and proper decoy placement --- along with good calling (or not calling), you will get better hunting without spinners.

ripples on the water is much more effective than the spinners
the ducks are getting very weary of them in the MS Flyway they seem to be the most effective on TEAL |
I think the spinning wings are becoming less and less effective
as the years go by |
