Default New to layout boats, need advice

I do a lot of river float hunting and backwater marsh hunting. I have a 12 foot flat bottom Jon boat that I've always used but its heavy and requires 2 people. The boat is great but I need something I can use alone. I need something that's easily manuevered by paddle, lightweight and is very stable for small river conditions. Any brands or models to look into, tips, experience or knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks

I duck hunt out of my kayak all the time on a pretty big tidal river. Just make sure you have enough room and storage for your gun and decoys and get a couple pieces of burlap or flash grass and lay them over the kayak to give you cover.

I use a carsten 10 foot layout. It weighs about 65 pounds and is very stable. It is great for use as a layout boat or setting out dekes in the river or retrieving dead or wounded birds.
