Default why don't ducks like my pond?

I'm not much of a duck hunter but I was wodering why there arent any ducks in my pond?

In the spring there's usually a few pairs of mallards. one year i saw a whole array of ducks (wood ducks, mallards and some kind I couldn't recognize).

But every year about a month or two before duck season they're no where to be found.

Can someone explain why ducks would do this?

You need a good food source. Millet/rice/or some sort of
grain. Then get some HeviShot SpeedBall and let'em have
it...........

Not enough corn on the bottom of the pond!!!! Just kidding. They make their own mind up as to which pond they want or not. No rhyme or reason. Only they know.

What kinds of natural food sources does your pond have available to it?
What is the make up of the shoreline?
Are there lots of trees, or fields, or a mix of both?
