new to duck hunting

Me and my buddy went waterfowling this past weekend. We were hunting in Fauqier county Virginia along the rappahanock. We didn't see a single duck and only 1 goose. I thought it might have been because the majority of the ducks had already migrated past us. I was curious to see what the more experienced hunters in the area thought. ALso I bought a dozen grennhead decoys for $25 at my lacal dicks. I thought about getting a duck call, while they still have 20% of all hunting stuff, but then I thought maybe I should wait till I get a chance to hunt a couple more times. Just wondering what yall thought

I would buy more decoys and as many calls as you can, and head down to Wanchese.

GHG are definitely good buys. I personally like a DR85 for a call under $20. Duck hunting is an awesome thing, but remember, it's called "hunting" and not "killing" haha. Don't let bad hunting frustrate you!

Buy a call and practice with it. Scout for the birds and keep hunting.
