WARNING: due to precision machine tolerances on your shotgun, some breaking-inperiod may be required before your new gun works perfectly with light target loads. If you experience any initial functioning problems, we recommended firing three or four boxes of standard hunting loads to allow for this break-in period. Allow me to repeat; Shoot some heavy loads (I used/patterned turkey loads) to break-in your SBE II, so it can then cycle the lightest loads well. 3 to 4 boxes of #4 shot to #6 shot high brass I can see. 3 to 4 boxes of 3.5 inch Turkey rounds used all in one time will knock you into the next century. Informing a potential new user to do just that? Man.......do be careful. JW |
JW,
Whattttt ???? "3 to 4 boxes of 3.5 inch Turkey rounds used all in one time" Whom may I ask mentioned 3 to 4 boxes ??? you maybe ! "Informing a potential new user to do just that?" Are you reading a "little bit" too much into this ??? 3 to 4 boxes ?!?! |
I bought my SBE II about six years ago and it happened to be early spring before turkey season. I didn't think much of it then, but the first rounds through the gun were turkey loads. I patterned a couple different boxes of 3in. mags maybe 10-15 rounds total. The gun has pretty much been flawless. It failed to cycle a second round last December on pheasant in SD, but it was below 0 and I probably didn't get all the excess oil wiped out. Just my observations.

So, put two and two together if you where a brand new shooter ~ go back and read it again as if you where a new shooter. I was just warning a potential new user/shooter that 3.5 inch turkey loads hurt! A Turkey Load is NOT a Standard Hunting Load. JW |
I would recommend the HeviShot waterfowl combo pack
for your SBE II. You will get both a mid range and an extended range choke tube in that pack. They are super. |
