Congrats that should make a nice mount. I have to agree about the eating part also. I think they are probably the best duck to eat.

I ended up eating this one. The next one I get Is going to be mounted! Lone flyer came into land on our Mallard dekes, I was so dam happy when he came flying in.

I shot my 1st woodie when I forst started duck hunting. Didn't know how awsome of a duck it was and I didnt even get a pick with it let alone mounting.

That's a duck that I regret not mounting...one morning when a buddy and I just started into duck hunting, we had 4 birds come in and each got a double. Ended up being 4 drake woodies.....neither of us got them mounted, and we both kick ourselves to this day! They were all perfect too.
