Acrylic vs Polycarbonate

What makes Acrylic so much more expensive? Is it just a tougher material or does it really make the call sound better/duckier?

Lots tougher to make
Turned and polished compaired to injection molded

It is a different sound
More of a sharp clear sound compaired to a more mello sound
I run both , as some days one works tons better than the other

IMO A properly tuned Poly call will get the job done just as good as a properly tuned Acrylic call 99% of the time

IMO the big thing is getting a call tuned to your calling
And practicing enough to make it work

Big thing is to learn when and how to call
Regardless of what call you are using

Practice,practice,practice!
Learn when and how much to call is also a big key!

there is a difference in the sound quality but i used poly calls for a long time with great success, if you have the extra money i would say go for it but if it a little tight i would stick with the poly's

i have both poly and acrylic calls and yes acrylic sounds better, i have a custom acrylic short reed goose call and its my baby, its one of the best calls i have ever heard, it sound better than most calls in the store
