I picked up this decoy recently and I' m trying to locate the carver. I' ve been told the family is still around and active waterfowlers. It was apparently carved by a member of a local family of waterfowl hunters,carvers that may also be guiding.

I think the last last name for the family is Waterfield. They are supposed to be located in the Chesapeake area of Virgina/North Carolina or thereabouts. If anyone out there knows this family or any family member I' d appreciate it if you could direct me to them.

My goal essentially is to get a brochure from the guide service, speak with the carver or simply get a picture of the carver to display in my den with the decoy.

I' m not sure about anyone on this board (hopefully mods here will allow me to post this), but you might want to check another waterfowling site with each state' s message boards.

Click on the Refuge Forums and go into the Virginia one (State Flyway forums, I think). Look up a guy by the handle " Governor" . He carves decoys and knows tons of people who do it professionally.
