My Wingmaster came with a 30" barrel so that's what I learned on, it was back in the 70s. *When I switched to a steel shot barrel I bought a 28" and it seems to balance a little better. *My A-5 has a 28" and I use that for pheasants, my doubles have 26" barrels and like to use those for quail and dove. *I think it comes down to learning waterfowl on the longer barrel for me, I wouldn't feel right using my shorter guns.*

I prefer the shorter barrel, less weight and easier to handle
