what kind of gun???

I an looking into a 12 gauge. Something synthetic black or camo works for me. Something that has Ben used before. Because I an not going to pay 400 plus for a shot gun. Something that can get beat up in the duck and goose boat. I don't care if it has a couple scratches or nickes here and there. My dad found a benelii supper nova for 350 used. We reload our own duck shells 2 3/4 inches long 2 shot but it will need to take three and or three and a half inch goose shells.

Suggestions please

go to pawn shops and look around, usually get a good deal there...after they tell ya the price ask em if they take 50-75 $ off...if its 400, ask the guy" will ya take 325?"

a remington 870 is a great all around gun. if you get the magnum receiver model it will take 3 1/2 shells. ive heard alot of discouraging things about this gun, but i own one myself and wouldn't ever give it up. and ive never had a problem with it. but benelii is a solid waterfowl gun too. you really couldnt go wrong with either

I bought a Maverick model 89 Field from Walmart for under $200. It's a 12ga pump with black synthetic. This gun is basically a less expensive version of the Mossy 500. (Maverick is a sub-company of Mossberg). I've shot dove loads all day though it and it was a joy. No problems whatsoever.
The only thing I've encountered is the front bead is very whimpy. My younger cousin knocked my shotgun over while it was leaned up against the truck and the Bead cracked and fell off. but then again, it did hit gravel.

just my $.02

Thanks for the help. I still haven't thought of what I am going to buy yet. I am still negotiating what gun.

Keep an eye out for a Remington 435. I have a mossburg 935, my brother found his 435 for less than $400 new. we have both hammered numerous 3.5 inch goose loads through them, but when dove season rolls around i have to pull out my over and under, he simply adjusts his gas port and the thing shoots low brass shells like a charm. I wish i would have seen the Remington first. just my 2 cents

A Supernova in good shape for under $ 400 is a great deal.

You discribed it perfectly; now you have to find it.
