Over and Under
Is an over and under appropriate or not appropriate for duck hunting?
I am looking at the Stoeger STF 3000 O/U 12 ga 28"... |
if you like it and it shoots steel, its apropriate for duck hunting:happy0001:

I have been looking for 4 months at buying a O/U... I shot a 12 ga. coach gun S/S over the weekend pheasant hunting... Wow, what a sight picture... It is so different than looking at a pin. Its like setting the bird on a runway to death.. I am sold on the side by side..

I started duck hunting w/ an over and under. Like G92 said, it won't be a problem. One thing I'd suggest it has though, would be a modified choke for 1 of the barrels, or better yet, removable chokes. The O?U I started out w/ didn't have removable chokes, so I was shooting a modified and IC with a barrel that was probably 24" long. There's absolutely nothing wrong w/ hunting ducks w/ an O/U.

A single shot will also work......................!?!?
Get a auto loader or pump for waterfowl. Stay away from wood if it's a foul weather gun. |
definately. u only get 2 shots instead of 3 is the only down fall, but if u can shoot it dont matter

It doesn't matter what you shoot as long as YOU like it. Heck you can throw rocks if ya want to and you're effective!!!!
I have several shotguns but my favorite is my side-by-side double. |
I shoot a Browning Cynergy that is all camo.. Shoots 2 and 3/4 up to 3 1/2.. But also have an Autoloader.. It sort of depends on where I am hunting as to which on I take.. Open water with longer shot options the 3 shell may come in handy.. In close cover you shouldn't need a third shot.

If you shoot them one at a time, a single shot will do..................LOL
