Default Slow Early Goose Season

I am up in central Wisconsin and the early goose season opened up on the 1st. Opening day my crew knocked down 21 birds, and since then we haven't shot a bird. Our crew collectively has put on over 1000 miles scouting since then and we haven't found a bird. Anyone else having a problem or seeing less geese this year. Last year we slaughtered the birds early season, but this year they just aren't around. I am hoping its because of the 80 degree days every day and that birds will start showing up soon but who knows...

You are doing alot better than we are. We dont even have an early season. I bet the temps have something to do with it.

Our group shot 7 geese on sept 5th (our opener) in Minnesota and 4 on sept 6th. Seemed to be less geese around this year. I have not hunted geese sense then, but there doesn't seem to be any geese around southwestern Mn right now. Just got back from a bear hunt in Bemidji area and there seemed to be more geese up there.

LOL
Here in my neck of the woods
We knocked the snot out of them

Our early goose season was Sept 1 - 15
I ended with 31 geese , limmit was 4 a day
Our group of 4 killed 83 geese , with at least 20 more taken by others hunting with us

Almost every AM we had lots of small family groups flying around
And then in the evening after work
A lot of nights , I hit a privit marsh with a freind

We normaly found geese day roosting on 1 or more marsh cells

Hey, just curious where they are, because the reports I've read state a slow early goose season with few birds. I have not seen a goose sense I've returned from the Blackduck and Northhome area. The reports do sound a little better from the northern part of the state. Good luck this season!!!
