clearing a way

on my land i have a huge bog that has so many cattails you can walk across it
but on the other side is a small pond we use for duck hunting
and it takes about 3 hours to paddle through the crap to get there
by that time the sun has come up and most ducks have left
is there any way to clear a small way towards the pond?

try cutting a little path through the cattails but just enough to get threw and enough cover so they dont see u. u know like when ur in tall crass and u make a path and have grass on the sides that hides u.

if the pond ever freezes you can beat down a path in the winter wherever you want it then just make sure you boat through it a couple times during the summer
