Why would anyone even think of it? It's not at all what duck hunting is all about, much less being illegal.

You should not hunt waterfowl. Pick a differnt sport that does not include equiptment the can kill others. I sure hope you were joking. Pick up a rule book for your state and read it before,,,,,, sorry for the insults, do a little research befor you get into something. At least you are asking. that is a plus.

a pickup truck stopped along a nearby road and fired a rifle shot into the decoys
I hunt a fewfields that are close to traffic and the thought of someonetakin pop-shots at my fullbodies (and me)hadregisered before. I never knew it actually had happened in the past! Some people[:@]

shooting a duck with a rifle is on the same level as shooting a sitting duck. no one who shoots a sitting duck can call himself a sportsman.
