RE: what choke
I use mostly IC. But for geese I'll screw in the modified. Also on late season ducks I screw in the modified a lot.

RE: what choke
I either use mostly modified and sometimes IC

RE: what choke
That's a loaded question (no pun intended)...
Every gun can shoot every load differently. So I suggest the following. Take your gun, along with the intended load you want to use and try it at known yardages that you typically shoot ducks at. Shoot it at a large target (say 2' X 2') and count the pellets in your kill zone. Try your different tubes, and try different loads, until you get the results your looking for. |

RE: what choke
You can shoot full, but you had better be right on the bird. I've said this several times and I will say it again, IC is the best choke for steel shot, period. That is if you want a higher hit percentage. Even with IC choke, you still have a pretty tight pattern with steel, but at least it's more forgiving than modified and definately full.

RE: what choke
I shoot mostly modified... I don't really see a need for IC for my hunting locations.

RE: what choke
I used to shoot mod, but my kill percentage went up after I switched to IC..
I haven't tried any of the specialized aftermarket chokes.. |
