Made it out for a midday hunt, and boy did it pay off. I have never had big shoots, and never yet limited out. Probably better that way, because right now I am happy as ever to get a few birds here and there. I have only come home empty handed once all season, so that says something.
It was snowing hard, so I figured when it let up the birds would be flying.
Around 2PM, the snow let up and a few birds began, only these two responded. Perfectly, as we all dream of, they circled and locked up into the decoys.
These are some of the most beautiful Mallards I have ever shot. Very plump birds, great plummage, awesome sets.
Hope you all are having great hunts, one week left in the season.

Thank-you Crowkilla!
It sure is great when a plan comes together. Can't wait to get out there tomorrow. I hope the lake is not too frozen over [
]. The temps are holding right around 28-33, so hopefully the wind (waves) are keeping the ice broke up for another week. That is all I've got left in my season! [:@]
