ORIGINAL: CAelknuts That is a hen ring necked duck. It is probably a young 'bird of the year', but there is no doubt in my mind that it is a ringneck. You'll notice the bit of white shading on the face, that is a dead giveaway for a ring neck hen. Buck get a dna sample and send it to the laboratory! That will probably be the only way we'll find out. [8D] |

The ringneck hen and bluebill hen both have the white shading or cheekpatches on the face but the bill being so dark leads me to believe its a ringneck. We kill a ton of them every year.
