Hitting It Hard

Hitting It Hard
My dad and I had been hitting about a 200 acre wheat field hard since the season started because we knew the farmer was going to plow it under, so we decided to hunt it as much as we could until it was. We hunted it about 6 of the first 8 days of the season and shot 32 geese out of it. Do you think think we did anything wrong by hitting a field that hard while the geese were there when it was going to be un huntable eventually anyway?

RE: Hitting It Hard
With resident birds, you tend to only get 2-3 hunts out of field anyway unless you only hunt it every 7-10 days (and even then its still only 2-3 hunts because the season goes out). I have hunted fields up to 5 times in a september season and still had birds... but they get smart pretty quick.. and you have to be in a spot where the birds want in bad.
If the field was going to get rolled under anyhow, then the birds would have changed locations... I think you did fine hitting it hard when you did. Nothing to lose anyway.
