What is the constriction of the barrel?

I'd look to a gunsmith to put Rem Chokes in it. That way you can shoot steel through it.

What choke ?

If you don't want to spend the $$ for choke tubes

A gunsmith can polish out a full to a nice Mod for a few $$ and you can then shoot any steel load you want

Not many factory loads

IMO a new barrel is your best bet

well if it is an SP-10 it can't be too old (they didn't start making them until 1989)...somehow that makes me feel really old....

for a waterfowling gun you need a more open choke...be a pretty good turkey gun though....

sure you can use lead shot, but that won't be legal for geese....non-toxic will probably pattern poorly with a full choke and possibly harm the barrel....

last I heard Ithaca was still in business in some shape or form, maybe you can contact them and look for a different barrel...or you might search gunbroker.com....
