I have never taken a bird with a band.

my dads been duck hunting 20 years, got one band, ive been hunting 6 years, got one band. a 11-year-old drake mallard from Alberta, my dad gives me a hard time saying it was ready to die of old age and i didnt actually hit it, but gave it a heart-attack

I think banded birds are cooler than shooting a huge deer.

I have yet to take a banded bird but that is the same thing I tell all my buddies that are starting duck hunting!

3...only kept one though, from a Speck (white fronted goose)...other two were given to clients when I was guiding (yes they asked me to shoot with them)....

Ducks 9

Coot 1

Dove 2

Common Merganser 1

IMO it is more about where you hunt and luck than skill
As I hunt in a area that they band local birds

But if the geese are gliding in
I look for neck and leg bands

4 birds.. 3 jack miner duck bands on one hunt (me and my buddy got 5 that morning) and one federal goose. I had pics on last years contest thread since i shot all 4 last year

Seven in all. Six Mallards and one Wood Duck. One of my Mallards was double banded with a $100.00 reward band.

I have none, here's some of my Dad's. There's a lot more that are on mounts, and neck collars that don't go on the lanyard
