Best goose call?
 

I am looking to buy a new goose call this year. I am looking at one of the Tim Grounds Old School wood goose calls.
In ya'll opinion, what are your guys favorite goose calls?

My favorite call that turns more geese than anything I got, is a Hayden's Honker

If you're looking for a bargain, i think a Zink would be the best... but i love RNT and Folies Migrators...

There is no "best" call. Everyones different. You just need to pick a call that fits you good, fits in your hand good etc. Also what do you want from a call? Higher pitched and fast, or lower and more mellow? Then once you find a call that fits you good, you need to practice on it as much as possible to be proficient on a call.

Can't go wrong with Foiles Strait Meat Honker. Best call I've blown.

That depends entirely on the situation. If its a big field on a windy day, I love the Zinks SR-1, but its pricey for Saturday fair weather hunters.

On the water, where sound carries better... that call can be too loud... and I have a Sean Mann Eastern Shoreman Flute (the poly carb express.... $60) thats very easy to use... and slam full of goose.... most folks have trouble blowing flutes these days... but if you think "T's" instead of "Ws'" its not that hard.

I've also started using the Pit Boss more and more, but it takes more to break than the other calls I have so it sounds bad when I switch calls "in flight"

I agree with AR 34! Big River flute. I had the camo one when I was a kid. easy to blow, and I have killed a ton of geese with one. I have been using calls from Bill Saunders since 1999. And I will call next to anybody,anytime, anywhere with his calls. Deffinately worth a look!

If it were me I would get a Zink little man (LM-1) or The Real Thang Tim Grounds! Those are great. Foiles Suck!!!!!!

I've hunted with some of the best goose hunters around and all they blow is foiles and i have one and call my fair share of goose in

I agree with the Big River long hunter great call if your a beginner or not. I like the RNT hunter series not to hard on the old pocket book I've been thinking about a Foiles myself.

I was being sarcastic, one of my short comings. I agree with you, I have 2 Foils calls on my lanyard all the time. The Foils Meat Cutter is the only flute that I own.

IMHO is is not what ya call it's how yer call'n.

We use Otter Memory maker Calls and prolly Kill more Geese than Most do in our area.

It's reading the birds and knowing how ta call in the situation you are in and how the birds are responding.

The reason we use otter calls is because they wont break the bank and they work well and Otter puts alot in them. He has been around Long before Grounds,Foiles and the other mass marketers.
