It took me all together about two weeks maybe. You can have something floatable in say 3 days if you have all the stuff ready. I just tinkered with mine, handles, lights, cubbies, paint, grass rails........ something floatable in 3 days..

Had a set back after my vacation where I snapped one of the gunnels while bending them. Wish me luck; I’m going to try again. I’m going to wrap them with beach towels and pour boiling water over them for an hour. Hopefully neither will snap this time.

Well I got the gunnels bent today. Had two small problems. First, because the rear of this boat is supposed to be the same as the front I ended up with double bends at the first 44inch rib, because the back should be bending in. I had noticed this on many others online, but could not figure out what caused it. It could be easily remedied by shortening the first 44” rib by one inch. The second problem was that one gunnel had more tension than the other, but that is just what you expect when dealing with wood. I inserted the keel in the rib slots to straighten it up after every thing was attached. This helped a lot but not quite enough so I placed cinder blocks to get every thing lined up and will let it dry this way. Wish me luck!

Looking good! It took us a few tries with our "Big Mama" but once we got going, things went quit smoothly. Hardest part was finding the two part epoxy($$$). Just a few final touches now and some paint.

mello heat gun the inside of your curves never outside wood will compress or soften and bend easier. just get it in place and heat the inside curve lots! we used a 4x8 sheet of cheap chip board to which we screwed wood blocks cut to the proper angle for our chine and gunnel strips 1x3 x14 ft. it all sat on horses much nicer on old men,s backs chk our pics ...dan

If you are still having problems with the bend, you can move the rib toward the middle a little to relieve the stress of the bend. Looks good. I know on my boat, from others experience, moving the middle support back 6" took away all the broken sides.
