RE: single reed or double
It is strictly a matter of preference. I have some of each and some days a singlereed will sound better some days a double reed. I have several of each on lanyards and when I gett in the blind I try them out to decide which it will be that day.

RE: single reed or double
I use a double reed all the time now,I still have lots of single reed calls but my prefference is for the double. Some guys use singles exclusively.Since there are so many calls available today there is a lot of choices out there.Which ever one a hunter uses and is confident with is his best.

RE: single reed or double
Great advice so far. A lot of guys like to use double reeds for close in work and a single reed for everything else. A good quality single reed is capable of doing it all, and you could probably say the same thing for a double.
