For a goose/duck gun it seemsgood. But if you plan on only hunting ducks you may want to stick with a 3 inch gun, I have never seen theneedfor 3.5 rounds for duck. I want one though but I do hunt geese and ducks sometimes at the same time and the overbored barrel should throw a better pattern with larger size shot.

I've got a beretta extrema 2 and I have been more than pleased with it. The recoil dampener works really well and you notice it on days that you do a lot of shooting. It will cycle everything from 3.5" shells to dove loads with no problem. I hunt in a blind and also in flooded timber that istoo dense to take a boat into and I always take it. Yesterday I broke half inch thick icemake a hole and then shot it all afternoon with no problems. I've had it underwater, had mud all over it, had river silt in it, and stillit shoots everytime as long as I clean it out. It is about as tough as a shotgun can get.

I don't understand kings comment as the x2 is designed to handle extremely harsh conditions.

I shot a 390 for years and just bought a x2 previous to this last season, if you can afford it they are great guns. Yet you can get a very comparible gun for less if you do without the 3.5 capability.
