I have tried this method. How well it works depends on the bones broken by shot. I had some completely rip to pieces, and others almost impale my hands and fingers with broken bones. If you just have a pellet or two in the head it will work great, otherwise proceed with caution.

I breast all mine but use a very small sharp fillet knife - I don't get that bloody and i also take the thighs and legs.

I tryed that
Didn't like the results of a destroyed bird every now and then

I skin the whole bird
Take the breast
Then the leg/ thigh
Split down the back and gutt , cut into 2 pieces
Wrap and freeze

When I have 15 or so ducks , I cook the carcases in a big stock with vegi's
I then remove the meat from the bones
I now have meat and stock

Barley duck stew is in the crock pot waiting for me to get home tonight
