The Feedin' Mallard
What's your opinion on the Feedin' Mallard shaker call?
Would it be something good to give to a beginner so they can be part of the calling? Would you consider it "cheating"? Is it not "traditional"? Is it worth adding to your already full lanyard of calls? (all opinions are welcome, give your true thoughts about this product.) |
RE: The Feedin' Mallard
I believe that it is a good way to introduce youngsters, and newbies to calling. I don't like them for a seasoned hunter. Once you have a few seasons under your belt, (unless you have a disability), you should be proficient with your calls.

Ive hunted fowl for 20 years,, im not ashemed of it.. I own one and use it! they are great in the late season when traditional calls tend too freeze up!

Great for me because i am still terrible at calling any duck call besides the wood duck whistle:D

RE: The Feedin' Mallard
Only one I have ever seen didn't sound anything like a feed chuckle. And I think if you tried to hang it on a lanyard it would choke you to death.
I'd rather give a kid a 6-in-1 whistle and teach them a widgeon note or a teal peep or even better a mallard grunt. All things that will call ducks almost every time. |
RE: The Feedin' Mallard
I got one as a gift, otherwise I would have spent the 20.00 on a better double reed call.
