Goose Spreads

me and my buddy are stocking up on decoys for next goose season and are wondering what % of the dekes should be feeders, lookers, resters and so on. we are going to be getting around 4-6 doezen dekes (2 doz fulls, 2-3 doz shells, 1-2 doz silohs). just wondering how you guysmake upyour spreads.

RE: Goose Spreads

To add on to CanadaSlammer's do any of you guys use the lookers/caller goose dekes, and do you get all of your heads flocked on your decoys? Me and Canadaslammer have all of our full bodies flocked, but is it worth it for the shells heads to be flocked? Thanks

RE: Goose Spreads

I usally throw at mixed percentage of all different head styles into the picture. Flocking your on the right days make a HUGE difference. When it is a foggy moring flocked heads make sure even with moisture on the heads there is no SHINE! also on the sunny days works awesome. I would Have all FFD's if i had the $. Early season around manitoba, they are pretty stupid and would come in to me if i was wearing a goose costume!:D but when it comes to late season I found my flocked heads to have a huge advantage in the hunting compitions up here. The Horseshoe pattern decoy spreads is sometimes an OK move to make but i usally use family groups works good for me up here. I good way to conceal yourselves in cultivates fields is digging pitts(with permission ny farmer) And throwing a super magnums over your body, which works . Hope this helps and hope you guys shoot your limits next season!!!
