The late Canada Goose season is still open in my part of VA. Hunted Tuesday as well as this morning. Nice and cold, ducks everywhere, no geese. All the small ponds and streams are frozen solid...only crap game in town is the river. I had two wood ducks litterally swim into my decoys and get up on the bank within dip net range of where I was sitting...stock still at that! Pretty neat...really made the morning, since the shooting was non-existant for geese today.

They always show up late....never fails.

O my goodness that's a lot of birds! It sucks doesn't it? Season ended here and some property i have to hunt right across the street has around 600 canadas on it every day, and ducks to go with it. O well, thats huntin.

Its been over for a few weeks . All we can do is buy more decoys, practice calling, and look for new properties to hunt. I can't wait until next year!
