The Resuscitated Duck

Not sure why someone would pay money to a vet to heal a duck from a gun shot wound but this hunter's wife did.

This story has been all over the news. It's getting a little rediculous. How can you not know the duck wasn't dead? He had to of known. What, was the duck unconscious from the time it was retrieved to the time he put it in the fridge? I don't think so.Why would you put an uncleaned duck in the fridge for a couple of days? The guy sounds like an idiot to me. This whole story is another shot in the arm for honest and legal hunters. You know the anti-hunting groups are eating this one up.

I couldn't agree more! What an idiot! Why put an uncleaned duck in the fridge? It almost sounds like it's made up or something....

The only thing I could think of was perhaps he was planning on taking it to the taxidermist.

That still doesn't excuse him from putting the duck in the fridge alive. He probably figured it would die from freezing to death or suffocation. Ducks are designed for cold temps, so I hope he didn't think it was going to freeze. Why would he want to mount a Ringneck hen anyway? Not one of the most beautiful ducks around. A drake I could understand.I'm not disagreeing with you. I just think the guy is an idiot.

I saw a video with an interview with the vet. The duck was actaully playing dead the whole time anyone was near it. Still the guy should have rung its neck,, he should have known what kind of bad press this would bring.

Still seems a little fishy to me though.
