I wanna ask...

Do you guys consider a male green wing as a duck worth mounting? I was having this debate with my parents. It's a beautiful duck, gorgeous plumage, fully grown. So, think I should mount it, or save the money for another kind of duck?

Ive been after a fully plumed out drake greenwing and drake wigeon for about 10 years.. I would have it mounted in a heartbeat!

Too many choices,, personally I like flying poses over standing.

i think any full plumed drake is worthy of mounting, especially if it is special to you. greenwings are gorgeous too. i just dropped off a rather large wood duck drake with perfect plumage at the taxidermist. im having it mounted standing with its wing slightly raised and in a glass case. wood ducks look better standing than flying IMO.

on a greenwing id go with flying pose on a piece of driftwood. just my 2 cents.

Lookin at one i have mounted right now, one of my favorites. It's standing with it's wing lifted and head kinda tucked underneath. I think a flying mount would probably be better though, unless you have a place to put it where you can see all the color.

I've got a drake and a hen greenwing mounted in flying positions and it really shows all the color good. Those are the only 2 ducks I've ever killed with one shot.

Yeah, this is the second duck I have ever gotten in one shot. My first was this full plumage spoonbill that I accidentally cleaned instead of considered mounting. My hunting buddies were like "Why would you get something liek that mounted?" Last time I give into peer pressure. And yet they were saying that it was the most beautiful one they had ever seen.

Actually I was saying that I killed both ducks with a single shot. Like shoot one time and pick up 2 ducks.

Absolutely worth mounting. My friend and I shot 5 perfect Green-wing drakes on Sunday morning. Beautiful birds. We shoot them pretty regularly. I have never shot a full plumage Blue-wing though. Guess I will have to get lucky, or go to Mexico.

Ya I would do it man. Dont do what i did, ull regret it. I shot this beauty mallard, banded, full plumage, three curls, the band was a 2000. I shot it this season, this fat and healthy bird with full colour. I cleaned the damn thing thinking i would get a better looking one from the north. that didnt happen, and everyone's calling me a dummy.

I agree with SWAMP....they are awesome...but a mount should be about what YOU like and what makes YOU happy!!!
