time, work, etc.... this year i'll give it a few tries. do you have just as much success as a traditional morning hunt? that should have been my question.

I don't think the mornings can be beat, but here and I am not sure of the laws elseware we can shoot 1/2 hr. before sunrise until sunset. I have often wondered why can't we get that last additional 1/2 hr in the evening because the birds seem to fly best in the evening during that last 1/2 hr.But all in all we do OK in the evenings.

Due to work , I mainly hunt evenings

IMO if the birds have been bumped a few times in the morning .
The evening can be better .
As long as you don't have abright suny day

I have hunted the evenings before and have been succesful. I found that it really does pick up till the last 1\2 hour and a lot of the time it's pass shooting but still set upthe decoys cause I have had ducks still decoy.

At the lake I hunt evenings can be fairly good. most of the other hunters are out in the morning, bangin' away till noon or so. after that they all go home and everything quiets down. makes the birds alot less spooky.

Hunt over decoys in the morning, jump some ducks mid-day, bowhunt deer in the evenings. I've had mixed success in the evening for ducks, but i think the above schedule works best for me and my area. Western South Dakota.

Our mose producitve hunts this year for puddlers have been in the afternoon,,, and not the last hour of legal time.. From noon until 2-3pm has been absolutely incredible,,, much much better than first or last hours have been!

Evening are always better where i hunt.

Our club borders BK Leach Conservation, MO . There you can only hunt until 100pm. Once all those hunters leave everything quiets down and the ducks are less weary. Plus, you dont have to get up early.

I hunt ducks in the morning and evening. Mornings are typically better although this year ducks in my area were in allot better in numbers and had good results in both. I do change spots from morning to eveningto let the ducks rest in the one spot when I am in the other.

Mornings are by far my favorite, but sometimes schedule dictates an evening hunt.

There are less birds flying around, but there are also a lot less hunters, sometimes none, so you usually have the birds to yourself.
