Which spinner should I buy?

I want a non-motorized, something simple. What doyou think of this?

RE: Spinning Wings Decoy? Who's got one?

Shouldn't it be who doesn't have a spinner? :-)

These things aren't effective as they once used to be but still have their time and place. We find them to be most effective when hunting a traffic situation, or in harvested grain fields. I would get a remote or randomizer module if buying one...

I'll bet it works well when the wind is blowing.... Problem is you cannot control the speed or the on/off.

I'd consider a flag of some sort in your case. I used to use a black boat paddle for ducks and geese, always worked well.

The two mojo's I have are useful most of the time. Its good for bringing ducks your way, but they don't automatically dump in like they used to. I have the remote on the stake duck that I turn off as soon as the birds start coming our way. Then I have a cycle timer on a floater. The combo seems to work pretty well. However, when hunting tight areas, I find that they spook more birds than they bring in. Almost like the birds see them and think, CRAP! But, when in an open area, movement of any kind, including even human movement, will make ducks often fly over for a look. Ever wonder why the ducks always come when you go back behind the blind to take a leak???

I wouldn't recommend relying on the wind. We have used the luck duck by expedite at the link below for years now and they have been very reliable. They also have the remotes and randomizer modules available...

I don't like this set up. I work at Cabela's and I know for a fact to get a decent spind the wind needs to be blowing quite hard.

I have three of these exact decoys. I've shot lots of ducks with them. I hunted with guys who have motorized spinners but, I don't have that kind of money. (in college) You need just a bit of a breeze. Don't plan on shooting any geese. They flaire right out with spinners...from my experience

RE: Which spinner should I buy?

I have used this and it works well. The wings spin with a minor amount of wind.

It does a good job of sucking em in to your decoy spread. I don't have one my self but it is now on my Xmas list after hunting over my bros.

Totally worth the money, especia;;y with the Cabelas sale on right now.
