Mallard/pintail crosses do exist,, I dont understand why anyone thinks that pic is fake. I had a mallard/pin hybrid land 15 yards from me a couple years ago while fishing in the spring.

For those that say fake,, explain too me what these 2 ducks are? And before you say these are fake... Ican get Kirk Miner too tell you he had his hands on these birds himself, and they do exist!

i didnt say it wasnt possiblebut why does it have a green wing when neither ducks have a green wing

Yes that is indeed a mallard pintail hybrid. I have raised wild waterfowl for a while (since 1963 or64 under a federal waterfowl propagation permit) and have seen several of this and other hybrids. They are not common but do happen. Good to take these out of the gene pool as a certain number of them are fertile. Hope you got it mounted. Good hunting!

I get mostly black X mallard hybrids... That's definately a neat looking bird!

My dad said when he was a kid, he shot a blackduck mallard hybrid.

kill quite a few mallard/black hybrids here ..... but never have taken pix of em ...will do this season ..... blue ridge ya in the atlantic or mississippi flyway ??
