Dang! I've shot a lot of ducks in the last 5 years and I have yet to shoot a wood duck! I hear that they are around here in Oklahoma. I just never see any. It will be a joyous day when I finally get one of those babies. I love their crazy red eyes. It's like the Terminator, but instead of going around killing everything in sight, it's just a duck. I never get banded ducks, and I never get any wood ducks. All I ever get are mallards, a few teals and coots.

Congrats on a beautiful bird. I shot my first one lastyear after 40 yrs of waterfowling. Ours are`nt in full plumage like the southern birds. My season has been pretty well over for about 6 weeks.

Congrats! Best eating bird their is. Most of what we shoot in the deep south is wood ducks. Can't knock 'em, cause we could have been stuck with mergansers....
