I would recomend a Big River Flute , http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20712-cat200002&id=0016429220108a&navCount=2&amp ;podId=0016429&parentId=cat200002&masterpa thid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=XG&ri d=&parentType=index&indexId=cat200002& hasJS=true

Easy to use and only $25 .
IMO not the best , but they work .
I have several goose calls that cost 3 or 4 times that .
But I still have a Big River on the lanyard also

Big River for me.I have had trouble getting constent good notes with a short reed. Short reeds sound better but the flute will do the job just fine.

I would go with a Foiles Meatgrinder....I like the short reed sound better than a flute and this is a great call.

For some reason the H.S. slammer sounds damn good. I have two short reed goose calls and really for the money the slammer is worth the 12 dollars i put into it. It will do just as well as my expensive call, the only problem i have with the slammer is that it is a tough call to blow when the temps get bitterly cold.
