Float Tube for ducks
I'd like to try duck hunting, but I don't have a duck boat or a retriever, nor do I know anyone who does. Is it possible to duck hunt in a float tube? Does anyone have any other suggestions for a cheap boat or other way of duck hunting?

RE: Float Tube for ducks
I duck hunted once from a float tube last year. My dad dropped me off out of the canoe and set up the dekes and left me there. I had a bunch of ducks come in, but I managed to miss them all [&:]I also found it's easier for me to sit still in a float tube. One tip though, get two split rings, put one on your trigger guard and tie it to another one thats attached to a zipper on your jacket or somewhere similar in case you drop your gun for some reason. So yes, it is possible to hunt from a float tube, or you could just hunt off shore.

RE: Float Tube for ducks
that sounds way too complicated. most...no...all puddle ducks like to feed in shallow water. just set up your dekes near some ground and cover, then hunt them from the dry ground in the cover. you need some hip boots or waders.
