Single vs. double reed?
What's the difference in a single vs. double reed call? I know 1 vs. 2 reeds, but how to they differ, call wise, clarity, volume, etc. When would you want to use a single instead of double and vice versa? Thanks!

IT DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE HUNTING, IF YOU ARE IN THE TIMBER YOU WANT A CALL THAT IS NOT TO LOUD SO IT DOESN'T ECHO, LIKE A DOUBLE OR TRIPLE REED YENZEN. WHEN YOU ARE HUNTING IN THE FIELD OR IN OPEN WATER YOU WANT A CALL THAT IS LOUD WITH CONTROL ON THE BOTTOM END AND WHEN I SAY CONTROL THE BOTTOM END I MEAN GETTING THEQUACKS ANDCHUCKELS OUT WITH OUT IT STICKING AND THEN BACK TO THE TOP WITH HIGH BALL MY PERSONAL FAVORITES ARE IN TIMBER TRIPLE REED YENZEN OR ZINK PARALYZER AS FAR AS OPEN CALLING I USE A RNT MVP SINGLE REED MAINLY BUT I ALSO USE A CUT DOWN ACRLIC |

Single reeds are for the most part louder and more crisp....
Doubles tend to be more soft and muted...... I use both and keep both on my lanyard!! |
