the vortex has a 12 volt motor, run off of a 12-volt deep cycle battery... A mess to carry in, but well worth it if you are hunting somewhere that you can ride a boat, fourwheeler, or haul a cart in.. Especially after you get your limit... MOST people run robo ducks off of it.. But it isn't necessary.. The rotation put off by the 12 volt motor is more than sufficient to run air lucky ducks, which are wind powered and about 70 bucks cheaper A PIECE than robo ducks.. works like a charm..!!
