My all time favorite is the generic Haydel's Canada Honker H-81. Try it out its cheap but nice.

Foiles SMH, hands down.

The High Plains Honker call sounds pretty good too. Had a chance to play around with it at the local BPS. Seems more specialized than the SMH, but just as easy to run.

a very close tie for me between zink's power maximus and paralyzer. but i picked up a primos grand at gander mtn. and found it to be a good call with a little cheaper price tag.

My first short reed was a Northern Prairie Bad Medicine - which is now a Hunters Specialties Bad Medicine. I know the guy that designed this call, and have hunted with him alot, and Barnie Calef a few times. Awesome sounding call.

I also have a Freestyle Original, a Heartland Flatliner, and a few other misc short reeds.

The High Plains Honker is a great call...sounds alot like the SMH...but I like the fact the the barrel and insert screw together.

ive looked at a high plains honker and i like the bell insert design. i like the bell design on the zinks and i think it should sound good on the hph. i like the smh so im sure its another great call by foiles.
