Which 3.5" shells for Mossberg 935?
I went out to the range today to shoot some guns and check out my new Mossberg 935 before duck season. I've been shooting 3" shells out of it with no problems. I disassemble, clean and reassemble the gun just fine. I had some Remington 3.5" shells today and they were jamming up when they were being ejected. It's like the plastic shell is too long after they have been fired and they won't fit out the opening! WTF? The gun shoots 3" shells fine. Is there another brand of 3.5" steel shot shells I can shoot that won't jam up? What are you guys using? I'd like to give something else a try before duck season starts here on Nov 5th! Thanks! Matt

I believe you have to have a certain type of shell for an automatic to eject it. I believe it is something along the lines of a brass shell, but I'm not sure.

I used to have the same gun but i sold it when i bought my new SBEII. I used all kinds of 3.5" shells for geese in it and they all worked fine for me. The only suggestion or thought i have on that problem might be to clean your gun good and oil your receiver on the gun. It might help it might not idk but good luck. RHL [/align] |

My buddy has a Mossberg. He uses all the popular shells and he hasn't had a problem. I think it's the shells you are using. Are they cheap? 3.5" Kent work perfect for us.

I have a Baikal auto and it wont eject federals for that same reason. Its like the hull of the shell after it has been fired is to long. I use Drylocks and Kents and they work fine.

I bought some Kent's today. There is a noticeable difference between the Kent's and the Remingtons. Duck season starts this Saturday here. I'll be trying them out then! Matt
