Summer lake oregon opener?

Has anyone ever hunted there opening weekend? Last year I was deer hunting on the mountains above it and it sounded like a war zone all morning. I have never heard anything like that before. Is it worth hunting there on opening or will I just get shot in the crossfire??!!
