Default Recoil Problem

I have a recoil problem with my 12 gauge. When i use 3 1/2 in. mags on geese it feels likegetting hit by a freight train. Last night I bought a SIMS slip-on recoil pad. It's suppost to reduce recoil up to 70%. Do any of you have a recoil pad??

i would say yea the record pads do work. i got a 12 pump and put one on and just got messed up with it and got used to the feel of it. i had a sholder one and i got tangled in it so thats why i stopped but if it helps you use it.

I never notice recoil in the exitement of a hunt. I do notice it when shooting trap. I use to shoot steel 3 1/2's out of a mossberg pump. Never hurt till the next day!

Peltz,
My dad got the Limbsaver precision fit recoil pad and it has worked very good. I have a SBE II and it also barely kicks. If your Sims doesn't work very well, I recommend the the Limbsaver.

i have heard that they help alot. i was going to get one but with my new gun (beretta xtrema 2) i dont even need them. 3 inch duck loads felt like 2 3/4 field loads out of my 870. also, sims makes limbsavers

i used to use one and worked fine...and adds a little bit of length to the stock which is nice for me...but if you were going to buy a new gun, semi auto tends to recoil alot less
