Don't know I've been working to DAMN much. South of Clinton there is a few birds but not nearly as many as last year although my dad and I limited out both saturday and sunday between 30-50 minutes to get our limits and we shot horribly bad. I'll be going out scouting tomorrow so I should be able to find so and see how the cold effected them hopfully it will be a good effect and not a bad one. I tlaked to some guys from Iowa up here hunting and they're hunting down west of Graceville and they got 7 mallards. I never got specifics I guess I never asked either since I have my own honey holes.

Where at about on Big Stone? Do you guys hunt on that big point just south of Mallard point? I always see guys hunting down there I can acctually watch them through my binoculars from where I hunt on Big Stone. Yeah where I hunt on Big Stone I can limit out every day but am usually very selective and only trophy hunt when the big flights come down, one day two years ago it took me about 5 minutes to shoot 6 ducks out thereand about 20 minutes to put out and bring in decoys so 40 minutes of work for 5 minutes of shooting. It was crazy.

As a matter of fact, thats us. By those weekends we hunt in large groups, you know 7-8 guys, never complete the full limit but you know, 20-30 ducks a day, if we're lucky some redheads, but mostly spoonies. We don't deer hunt and those are the best weekends, one year the lake was iced up and we kept a hole open with the boat, god we would be retrieving ducks in the boat and ducks would land on top of the boat, unbelievable how safe they felt in those big numbers and how bad they wanted the water, throats full of corn and need water. Man 2nd weekend this year, seemed like all the ducks were gone, but then you drive by a private slough and you know where they went. Our family has cabins at the end of the road from Mallard Point, the point we hunt is about another mile down. How are numbers now, planning on coming up, I suppose not a lot on the lake yet, but debated going to the sloughs or hunting the lake, hunting the lake is pretty lazy compared to trudging into a slough.

I talked to a guy in the hardware store up here today and he said that last saturday his party had 14 guys hunting and they limited out on Bluebills and Cans on Lake Traverse so they're starting to come down but I suppose it will be a while until they're really down here. I'll keep you posted.

I was out there this morning and there were quite a few bulebills on the lake all right smack dab in the middle and we had about 8 cans come in to the decoys just a little far out they came in right almost at the end of my decoy lineso we never got ashot at any. I won't be able to get out there for another week now which REALLY SUCKS!!!!! So please try not to shoot them all this coming weekend.
