I've never hunted waterfowl before but it looks like fun and i wanna try it and i was wondering about some things.
First i was wondering if i got my duck stamp now, would it be good until december 31 or until the end of our lisence year, which is september 30 here in NY. Second for goose hunting, i was wondering what the best shot size would be and what choke i should use

your federal duck stamp is good from July 1 to June 30. it's around 15 bucks.

here in kansas, our state and hip stamp are also good from July 1 to June 30, and they are about $5 and $2 respectively.

our licenses are from Jan 1 to Dec 31.
