Coots
Has anyone seen an increase or decrease in the Coot population in your area? It has been 3 years since I have seen one and we honestly had them by the thousands around here.

RE: Coots
We use to have a bunch as I mentioned and other ducks like widgeon liked hanging around them to scarf up some of the grass that they pulled up.

RE: Coots
in arizona those things get pretty annoying the pond by our house is packed with them as well as the surrounding lakes, there is certainly no shortage.
|
RE: Coots
I like having them around they give the marsh a more lively appearance and some ducks benefit from them, so I hate to see them not showing up and from what you guys are saying maybe ours have moved to the mid west. I don't know?? Thanks for your responses
