That depends on your savings rate- how much do you save every month?

I usually make $20 per week as long as i can mow our lawn and work at our camp in the same week, but once duck/goose season comes around, most of my savings will be going to hevi-shot ($1.70 per shell!), a new pair of waders and a Max-4 HD Jacket.so all of that combined will be about $250. but i can always rely on yard work for a quick 10 bucks.

Walmart has good new Mossberg 30-06 rifles for 249.00 with no scope. A good gun at a great price. Good luck.

Go to a pawn shop. I got a .30-06 savage 110 with a scope for $200.00 out the door. Just make sure you look it over real good. Also I seen a Mossberg 12 ga with 2 barrels, one slug barrel rifled with the cantilever scope mount, and one with 2 chokes full and modified. That would greatly increase the versatility of your hunting ability if you go with something like that. You could hunt deer and birds with the same gun. And it was only $300.00 new.

I think im going to go with a remington 7600, i already have a remington 870 12gafor duck, goose, turkey, and trap shooting so i also think i might try to find a used slug barrel for it.
